AIA Philippines Life and General Insurance Company, Inc. (AIA Philippines), formerly Philam Life and a leading life insurer in the country, its bancassurance partnership with BPI, earns honors again at the 2025 Golden Arrow Awards for sustained excellence in corporate governance and ethical leadership.

AIA Philippines marks its eighth straight Golden Arrow honor. BPI AIA marks its sixth. AIA Philippines earns a Two-Arrow recognition this year, while BPI AIA secures Three Arrows.
This reflects each company’s drive to strengthen governance, build stakeholder trust, and deliver long-term value amid growing transparency demands. Additionally, these recognitions support efforts to elevate Philippine governance rankings and promote a stronger, competitive, globally aligned business environment.
The Golden Arrow recognizes organizations that score at least 80 points in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard assessment. This assessment measures governance practices against Philippine regulations and global standards. Criteria include protection of shareholder rights, equitable treatment, disclosure and transparency, board responsibilities, and stakeholder engagement.
“We are proud to once again be recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors,” said Melita Teo, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Philippines. “Earning another Golden Arrow distinction reaffirms that strong governance remains at the core of how we operate and how we protect the trust of our customers, partners, and stakeholders.”
AIA Philippines and BPI AIA strengthen governance across board oversight, compliance, enterprise risk management, and sustainability stewardship. This work aligns with AIA’s purpose to help people live healthier, longer, better lives and create long-term value.
